Nine-year-old Jessica Riggs (Rebecca Harrell) believes in Santa, and when she finds one of Santa's reindeers, Prancer, injured in the forest, she secretly nurses him. Jessica gets help from veterinarian Orel Benton (Abe Vigoda) and her older brother Steve (John Duda), and all goes well–until Jessica tries to contact Santa. This leads to problems for her father John (Sam Elliott) who decides to sell Prancer. But, by Christmas, all ends happily.

This film of the 1979 Tony Award-winning play involves the barber Benjamin Barker who assumes the name of Sweeney Todd (George Hearn). He comes home after serving 15 years in prison and vows revenge against the evil Judge Turpin (Edmund Lyndeck) who sent him away. Not only did Turpin rape Todd's wife, which caused her to commit suicide; now he has adopted Todd's daughter Johanna (Betsy Joslyn). Todd puts his plan into action: as a barber he will cut more than Todd's and other customers' hair, and then Mrs. Lovett (Angela Lansbury) will bake his victims in her meat pies.
