Eddie Murphy plays Los Angeles social worker Chandler Jarrell who tracks down missing children. Sylvester Stallone as writer, director, and star pulls off another very enjoyable film with this version of Rocky Balboa's (Stallone) ups-and-downs in the boxing world. The story begins where "Rocky II" ended with Rocky taking the championship from Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers). Then the story jumps three years ahead. Rocky has won many matches and is now wealthy. But, problems lie ahead when he loses his title to Clubber Lang (Mr. T) who accidentally causes the death of Rocky's trainer Mickey (Burgess Meredith).

Richard Roundtree is back in the role of P.I. John Shaft in this follow-up to the film "Shaft" made the year before. This time around, the violence is high as Shaft sets out to recover a big bundle of money that is missing after his friend, who owned a mortuary and ran a numbers game on the side, is blown up. Since the money is going to a worthy cause, Shaft fights the crime bosses of Harlem who want the money. He finds the money in a coffin, and the chase is on.
