  In this true story about a 19th-century Australian bush outlaw, Dennis Hopper takes on the title role of an Irish immigrant who goes to Australia to find gold. Once in Australia, Morgan resorts to criminal activity, is caught, and put in jail for six years. After his release, Morgan teams up with an Aborigine, Billy (David Gulpilil), and, as Morgan tries to exact revenge on those who had wronged him, they gain fame as outlaws in New South Wales.

Alan Price adds to the fast-paced story with several songs that reflect Mick's rise and fall: "Someone has to win in the human race, if it isn't you, then it has to be me."

All goes well for a short time, but when Mrs. Hammond grows tired of Frank, their doomed romance leads to tragedy.

  Three convicts–Dodger Lane (Peter Sellers), Jelly Knight (David Lodge), and Lennie Price (Bernard Cribbins) break out of jail to rob a maharajah, commit the perfect crime, and return to jail for the perfect alibi. With help from Soapy Stevens (Wilfrid Hyde-White), they perform the heist, but then are faced with the problem of where to store the jewels. They decide to hide them in the warden's safe, and wait to be released. That works, but problems lie in their future.
