  Eighteen-year-old Ben Sweet (Nick Roth) enrolls at UC Berkeley in 1968 to study accounting and as a means of avoiding the draft in the midst of the anti-war movement. While at Berkeley, Ben learns to party '60s' style–including sex, drugs, and rock and roll. He joins a rock band and goes through a number of life changes discovering by story's end that his "true self" lies in writing.

O2 forces street hustler Coco (Meagan Good) to help, and the duo sets out through Los Angeles neighborhoods using any means possible to obtain the $100,000 ransom needed to get Junior's freedom.
