Also serving with Dan on the assignment are Tucker (Kevin Durand) who burned down Ben's barn, railroad boss Grayson Butterfield (Dallas Roberts), Pinkerton agent Byron McElroy (Peter Fonda), and Dan's teenage son William. As Dan and Ben match wits along the trek, they also encounter problems with Apaches and Ben's gang–led by Charlie Prince (Ben Foster)–on what turns out to be a dangerous journey to catch the 3:10 to Yuma.
