Nine-year-old Jessica Riggs (Rebecca Harrell) believes in Santa, and when she finds one of Santa's reindeers, Prancer, injured in the forest, she secretly nurses him. This leads to problems for her father John (Sam Elliott) who decides to sell Prancer. But, by Christmas, all ends happily.
