Tom is dating nurse Lt. Helen Landers (Vera Ralston), and Cal is attracted to her also. They complete their training and are transferred to Guam where Helen is also stationed. The time arrives for their mission, and they fly to Tokyo with a squadron of B-29s, but the plane crashes. During the rescue attempt, Tom is killed, and Cal returns to Helen. This film pays tribute to the development of aviation and the daring men who flew bombing missions during World War II.
