When he learns that Hedy has other plans, her uncle convinces an Air Force pilot (John Carroll) to fake an injury and have Hedy treat him. The plot works but not without complications.

They lead a wagon train through the hostile Indian Territory, but someone in Crockett's military unit is spying on the wagon trains and tipping off the Indians who then attack. At first, Red Hawk is suspected, but he is vindicated when the real culprit is revealed.

Ken MUST get that garter (which is always around Gertie's leg) back without his wife or friend knowing about it.
