Meanwhile, Sally's press attache, Kenneth Gibson (Donald O'Connor), attracts Princess Maria (Vera-Ellen). Songs of note in this celebrated film include "You're Just in Love" and "It's a Lovely Day Today." An Oscar was received for Best Musical Score.

And a great 24 hours are enjoyed by all in one of the best musicals ever made. The film won an Academy Award for Best Scoring of a Musical Picture.

Accompanied by singing sisters Betty and Judy (Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen), Phil and Bob travel to Vermont and make plans to put on a musical show to raise needed funds for Waverly. Songs include "White Christmas," "Sisters," and "Blue Skies"–and "Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep" was nominated for an Oscar for Best Song.
