  Fourteen-year-old Ellie (Julia Stiles) knows exactly what she is doing after her mother's (Chelsea Field) mysterious murder. Ellie takes her mother's place, dresses in her wardrobe, wears her makeup, and sleeps with her father, Ben (William R. Moses). All the while, Detective Boland (Michael Parks) snoops around, finding more than one suspect in the homicide.
