Meanwhile, Brad's friend Larry Hedges (Noah Emmerich) spends much of his time driving by the house of recently released sex offender Ronald James McGorvey (Jackie Earle Haley) who has returned to the neighborhood to live with his mother (Phyllis Somerville).   Problems are developing in the marriage of a Connecticut couple, Frank and April (Leonardo DeCaprio and Kate Winslet), as they find themselves becoming a typical suburban family, which is what they vowed never to do. April's solution is to move as a family to France where they believe that they will be free from consumer demands and will be able to enjoy their artistic spirits. They brag to their neighbors about their decision, but will they be able–amidst constant arguments–to carry out their plans for a new lifestyle in France? Mentally challenged John Givings (Michael Shannon) appears to the only one to understand the Wheelers' problem.
