Sweden's Home Research Institute takes on the job of modernizing kitchen equipment by observing kitchen habits of single Norwegian males. In the process, communication is forbidden between the observer and the observed. But, Scandinavian winter nights are long, and isolation gives way to friendship between one observer and his bachelor subject.
