  Andy Barclay (Justin Whalin) is now a teenager away at military school and has new friends Kristen De Silva (Perrey Reeves) and Harold Whitehurst (Dean Jacobson). But, the evil "possessed doll" Chucky (voice of Brad Dourif) is back and has tracked down Andy. When Chucky arrives at the school, he decides to put his soul into the body of a younger boy, Ronald Tyler (Jeremy Sylvers). Andy recognizes the bloody signs that Chucky has returned and sets out to put an end to Chucky.

  This story is adapted from the memoirs of Susanna Daysen (Winona Ryder) and relates the time when she was a patient at Boston's Claymore psychiatric hospital in the mid-1960s. She recalls stories of "friends"–sociopath Lisa (Angelina Jolie), pampered Daisy (Brittany Murphy), and burn victim Polly (Elizabeth Moss)–who she encounters during her 18-month stay. Susanna works with her psychiatrist, Dr. Sonia Wick (Angelina Jolie), and is guided by nurse Valerie (Whoopie Goldberg). Susanna leaves friends behind when she reclaims her independence and moves out of the institution and on with her life. Jolie won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress.
