  Gunfighter Colt Ferron (Bob Steele) kills his father's murderers and joins Wolf Whitson's (Ted Adams) gang of outlaws. Two years later, Wolf ends his life as a gang leader by turning himself in and giving Colt his ranch. All goes well, until the old gang members appear on the scene, now led by Snake Bralt (Lew Meehan). Colt goes to Governor Gray (A.C. Henderson) and tells him that if he will release Wolf from prison, the two of them can bring in the gang. Now, it is up to the governor to make a big decision.

  Gold appears to be the reason that the brother of Texas Ranger Jim Dillon (Kermit Maynard) was killed by the bad guys, and Jim is determined to avenge the killing. Reed (John Merton) is the leader of the outlaw gang, and he offers to make Jim a partner. When Jim leaves, Reed plots to ambush him. That effort fails, but other attempts are made–including framing Jim for murder. Will Jim be hung for the murder, or will Reed finally be stopped.

Bull Dural (George Chesebro) and his gang rob the project's payroll, and Gene and Frog suspect that he may play a role in the accidents. But, Dural may be only a pawn used by the real villain.
