Bride of the Monster 1955 N/R, 69 min. Genre: Sci-Fi
Director: Edward D. Wood Jr. Cast: Bela Lugosi, Tony McCoy, Harvey B. Dunne, Don Nagel, Tor Johnson, Loretta King, George Becwar, Bud Osborne
This is the Edward D. Wood Jr. film that features the now famous "fight" between a dissipated Bela Lugosi and a prop-room octopus–minus its electrical hook-up. Do NOT miss this one! If you feel particularly daring, follow up with the sequel, "Night of the Ghouls." 1 User Review

| | So bad it's good! | Bobo 11/20/2007 | If for no other reason, watch this flick to enjoy Lugosi's "over the top" soliloquy which begins with: "Home? I have-a-no home!"
... and how can you miss this mad scientist's lab subjects sporting electronic headwear (a colander with a chin strap and wires) ?!
All this and Tor Johnson too? |

The Lemon Drop Kid 1951 N/R, 91 min. Genre: Comedy / Musical / Romance
Director: Sidney Lanfield Cast: Bob Hope, Marilyn Maxwell, Lloyd Nolan, Jane Darwell, Andrea King, Fred Clark, Jay C. Flippen, William Frawley, Tom Dugan, Harry Bellaver, Sid Melton, Ben Welden, Ida Moore, Tor Johnson, Jack Kruschen
Based on a Damon Runyan story, this is the remake of the 1934 film about a reformed gangster, The Lemon Drop Kid (Bob Hope). The Kid accidentally gives gangster Moose Moran (Fred Clark) a bad tip on a race. Now Moran tells The Kid that he must come up with $10,000 to make up for what he would have won. The Kid sets up a fake charity–after all, it is Christmas–and begins to raise the needed funds. This is the film that introduced Ray Evans and Jay Livingston's Christmas ballad, "Silver Bells."

This sequel to "Bride of the Monster" took 23 years to release because (a) it was so bad or (b) the lab bill was not paid. Now it is available, and the viewer can check it out to decide which answer is correct. Speaking of checking it out, our cop friends check out ghost sightings in East L.A.

Plan 9 from Outer Space 1959 N/R, 79 min. Genre: Sci-Fi aka: Grave Robbers from Outer Space
Director: Edward D. Wood Jr. Cast: Gregory Walcott, Duke Moore, Dudley Manlove, Tor Johnson, Bela Lugosi, Tom Keene, Mona McKinnon, Joanna Lee, Lyle Talbot, Vampira, Carl Anthony, Paul Marco, Tor Johnson, Bill Ash, David De Mering
Many critics rate this film as the worst movie ever made. It stars Bela Lugosi, but Bela died early in the making of the movie. Undaunted, Ed Wood used old home movies and an actor, holding a cape across his face, to fill in for Lugosi's role in the story.
