Hopalong Cassidy (William Boyd) receives a summons from Colonel Gonzalez and, along with Windy (George "Gabby" Hayes) and Lucky (Russell Hayden), heads to Mexico. The summons turns out to be a fake and is the work of Mexican criminal, "The Fox (Paul Sutton)," who has escaped from prison and wants revenge against Gonzales and Hoppy who had captured him. By the time Hoppy arrives, "The Fox" has killed Gonzalez. Hoppy does capture "The Fox" but is then outnumbered by gang members of "The Fox." With help from a band of caballeros, Hoppy is rescued, and all ends well.

Based on an O. Henry story, this film stars Tito Guizar as the Llano Kid, a masked (and singing) highwayman along the Texas-Mexican border. Along come Lora (Gale Sondergaard) and John (Alan Mowbray) Travers who are in search of a rich heir. After seeing the Kid unmasked, Lora does not rat on him during a trial. She then concocts a scheme where the Kid pretends to be the heir so that she can share the wealth. Eventually, the Kid makes the right decision.

Hopalong "Hoppy" Cassidy (William Boyd), California (Andy Clyde), and Breezy (Jay Kirby) are on the trail of outlaws operating along the border between Mexico and the United States. A masked outlaw impersonates Hoppy at times and also impersonates Mexican police official Gonzales (Antonio Moreno) to make them suspicious of each other. The ploy works for awhile–until Hoppy sets a trap and puts an end to the outlaw gang.
