Hi-jinks follow, and the sailors end up in the brig, even though Danny's father (Walter Pidgeon) is an admiral! But, romance is in the air, and all ends well amidst jokes, dancing, and songs including "Sometimes I'm Happy," "I Know that You Know," and "Hallelujah."

Then, his contacts with Victor Herbert (Paul Maxey) and Oscar Hammerstein (Paul Langton) lead to success on Broadway. Songs are abundant and are sung by top musical stars of the day.

The plan does not set well with the warden (Alan Dinehart) who has bet a fortune on the upcoming football game and needs his stars to win. The duo does escape, but, fortunately for the warden, they return to win the game in its final moments.
