  In this animated feature film, Charlie Barken (voice of Charlie Sheen) is a dog angel and is bored by the eternal bliss of Heaven. Charlie finds relief when another angel, Carface (voice of Ernest Borgnine) tries to steal Gabriel's horn, and Charlie comes to Gabriel's defense. Along the way, Sasha La Fleur (voice of Sheena Easton) sashays her way into Charlie's life, and love blooms.

  The animation of this popular fairy tale is a highlight of this Disney film. She learns to look beneath the surface of another and discovers a gentle kindness hidden behind the beast's gruff exterior. The song "Beauty and the Beast" won an Academy Award as did the musical score. The film was also nominated for Best Picture.

  Victor Hugo's powerful 1831 melodrama is brought to the screen by Disney in this animated offering. It glides over the corruption of church and politics and concentrates on hunchback Quasimodo (voice of Tom Hulce) who has been hidden in the bell tower of Notre Dame Cathedral by his adopted father Frollo (voice of Tony Jay). Quasimodo's gargoyle friends–Victor (voice of Charles Kimbrough), Hugo (voice of Jason Alexander), and Laverne (voice of Mary Wickes)– encourage him to attend a festival where he meets sensuous gypsy Esmeralda (voice of Demi Moore) and handsome soldier Phoebus (voice of Kevin Kline). Now, Frollo's cruel tactics rise to the fore as he tries to destroy the gypsies' home. Quasimodo comes to their aid, and, by story's end, Phoebus and Esmeralda go off together, and Quasimodo returns to the bell tower.

  Robert Louis Stevenson's "Treasure Island" has been reset to Treasure Planet in this Disney animated sci-fi film that takes place in outer space. Young Jim Hawkins (voice of Joseph Gordon-Levitt) travels across the universe as part of the crew of the spaceship R.L.S. Legacy, which is captained by Amelia (voice of Emma Thompson). A pirate, Billy Bones (voice of Patrick McGoohan), has given Jim a treasure map showing how to reach Treasure Planet, and Jim's purpose in signing on to the ship is to search for the treasures hidden there. Jim becomes friends with crew member John Silver (voice of Brian Murray) and learns that he is part cyborg and plans a mutiny. When Jim opts out of the mutiny, he finds an ally in marooned robot B.E.N. (voice of Martin Short) and tries to defend law and order. The film received a Best Animated Feature Academy Award nomination.
