This is the "best of the best" of Fred Astaire/Ginger Rogers musicals in which they perform their exquisite dance, "Cheek to Cheek." American entertainer Jerry Travers (Astaire) and wealthy Dale Tremont (Rogers) meet and fall in love in London, but problems enter the scene when Dale thinks that Jerry is her best friend Madge's (Helen Broderick) new husband. Actually, Madge's new husband is Jerry's business manager Horace Hardwick (Edward Everett Horton). Will Dale's case of mistaken identity be cleared up in time for Dale and Jerry to live happily ever after? The film received five Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture.
