While Anthony is paddling a canoe nearby, Gideon uses his sorcery skills to cause a storm that capsizes the canoe. Anthony makes it to shore and shoots Gideon. Meanwhile, Miranda falls in love with a Union soldier, Capt. Frederick Allen (Eddie Mills), and they warn General Grant's troops about a trap set for them.
