  Based on an O. Henry story, this film stars Tito Guizar as the Llano Kid, a masked (and singing) highwayman along the Texas-Mexican border. Along come Lora (Gale Sondergaard) and John (Alan Mowbray) Travers who are in search of a rich heir. After seeing the Kid unmasked, Lora does not rat on him during a trial. She then concocts a scheme where the Kid pretends to be the heir so that she can share the wealth. Eventually, the Kid makes the right decision.

  While traveling with his carnival, Roy Rogers needs $10,000 to pay off a carnival loan. He learns from his sidekick, Cookie Bullfincher (Andy Devine), that there is a $10,000 reward being offered for the capture of gypsy Rico Perado (Tito Guizar), and he captures him. But, Roy soon realizes that Rico is innocent and lets him go. The real villain is Harry Blaisdell (Charles McGraw) who Roy chases down and brings to justice. The reward money saves the carnival, and the show moves on to the next town.
