Arthur Penn received an Oscar nomination for Best Director.

Now, Kim has returned to visit and finds Genie (Kristy Wu) dating a Black DJ (Anthony "Treach" Criss), which goes against Chinese tradition. The three women now struggle to find a common thread in their lives.
