Tolson's team–Henry Lowe (Nate Parker) and Hamilton Burgess (Jermaine Williams) are joined by alternates Samantha Booke (Jurnee Smollett) and James Farmer, Jr. (Denzel Whitaker). They undergo vigorous training by Tolson as he helps them improve their speaking skills. Conflicts concerning Tolson's efforts to help migrant farm workers rise to the fore, but, in the end, lessons are learned, and the debate team members learn to believe in themselves.

| | Awesome Movie | susan 02/27/2009 | | A true picture of Money Brats that finally have to face the fact that they have no REAL friends. They have a false sence of who and what they are, until faced with reality. It is a real picture of how a family can be torn apart when the will isn't what they thought and they don't get want THEY want. Faced with the task of finding a TRUE friend the young money brat discovers he has a deep compasion for a single mother struggling to deal with her daughters cancer. A new friendship developes into a sincere reality of giving back. It is a very moving film and diffently begins to engage a sence of wanting to help our community. |
