When college professor Ellen (Sherilyn Fenn) leaves, her lover Connie (Kelly Lynch) is left with a problem: Ellen will not be available to escort her to her sister's wedding. Solution: hire an escort, Joe (William Baldwin). After Joe and Connie hit it off, she convinces him to pursue Ellen and then drop her so she will return heartbroken to Connie. A plot much easier planned than executed.
