Sylvester Stallone is back in the role of traumatized Vietnam veteran John Rambo who is scraping out a living salvaging old PT boats and tanks for scrap metal. One day, missionaries approach him and ask for a ride up the river to take needed supplies to the Karen people deep inside Burma. Rambo obliges and drops off the missionaries near the impoverished village. Two weeks later, Rambo learns that the missionaries were kidnapped, and now his military training pays off as he sets off to rescue them.
