  This is one of the great World War II films. They face certain death while delaying the advancing Japanese troops in pursuit of MacArthur but are prepared to sacrifice themselves for their country.

Meanwhile, Doc becomes a friend of Billy and brings him to his ranch to escape arrest. At the ranch, Billy meets Doc's mistress Rio (Jane Russell), and romance blooms. Gunfights ensue as Doc helps Billy evade the law, and they ride through the desert with Garrett and his posse in pursuit.
