Featured in this film is a very young Rita Cansino–soon to change her name to Rita Hayworth.

Lee comes to the aid of his father in solving the case and identifying the chief counterfeiter. This is the first "Charlie Chan" film in which Luke appears.

Four years later, Chico, blinded during the war, returns to a loving Diane who is waiting for him.

Mr. Moto (Peter Lorre) tackles the problem of seven Chinese scrolls, which, when put together, reveal the hidden treasure of Genghis Khan. He has the seventh one and attempts to get it to the rightful owners who have the other six. Unfortunately, the bad guys also want that seventh scroll and will stop at nothing to get it.
