Fico (Andy Garcia) owns the popular El Tropico nightclub in Havana and adopts the hands-off policy on government shared by his university professor father (Dustin Hoffman) and tobacco plantation owner uncle (Richard Bradford). But the year is 1960, Batista has decamped, and Castro has taken power. Fico tries to hold his upper-class family together while his brothers, Ricardo and Luis (Enrique Murciano and Nestor Carbonell), support the revolution. Later, after Ricardo is killed, Fico falls in love with Ricardo's widow, Aurora (Ines Sastre). This story of romance in the midst of revolution captures the culture of one privileged group in Havana during the revolution. 1 User Review
