This is yet another in the "Willy the Whale" series. Jesse (Jason James Richter) is a bit older now–16-years-old–and is spending the summer on board a ship off the Pacific Northwest coast with his friend Randolph (August Schellenberg) and oceanographer Drew (Annie Corley). After communicating with Willy, Jesse learns that Willy is siring an offspring and enjoying his freedom. When Jessie discovers that fishing boat captain, John Wesley (Patrick Kilpatrick), is killing whales, he teams up with John's 10-year-old son Max (Vincent Berry), and, together, the boys ensure Willy and other whales' safety–at least for now.
