Most of the citizens want to take the money and run, BUT old Ben (Fulton Mackay) sees the error of their decisions and holds out. Very clever and fun.

  Based on Swedish playwright August Strindberg's 1889 play, Mike Figgis' adaptation has Saffron Burrows in the role of Miss Julie who flirts and torments the servants. Peter Mullan takes on the role of Jean, the servant who plans to rise above his station using Miss Julie as part of his game plan. But, all is lost when Jean's lover, Christine (Maria Doyle Kennedy), catches on, and her jealousy leads to Miss Julie's ultimate destruction.
