  In a change of character for Shirley Temple, she plays a little brat, Mytyl, who leaves home with her brother Tyltyl (Johnny Russell) and follow the Fairy Berylune (Jesse Ralph) on a trip through the past, present, and future in search of the Blue Bird of Happiness. But, Mytyl finds that happiness can only be found through unselfishness.
