  This story is based on Terry McMillan's bestseller about her own love affair with a younger man. Stella (Angela Bassett), a divorcee, plans to vacation in Jamaica with her good friend, Delilah (Whoopi Goldberg). Once there, Stella finds herself pursued by Winston Shakespeare (Taye Diggs) who has romantic intentions. But there are major problems, and all of them begin with the age factor: Stella is 40 years old, and Winston is a mere 20.

When his father is jailed for stealing food to feed his family, Boy sets off with his dog Sounder to find his father, meeting challenges and successes along the way. Director Kevin Hooks played Boy in the original film.
