  In this dark comedy, a group of New Yorkers gather at Andrew Goldman's (Matt McGrath) Greenwich Village apartment on New Year's Eve to greet the year 2000. One of the guests, Rufus King (Dan Futterman), prepares to dump his girlfriend Annabell (Jennifer Garner) in favor of Nicole (Amanda Peet). As the evening progresses, Andrew fights with his father Harold (Buck Henry), and all the guests reflect on their own lives and what may lie ahead in the new millennium.

Despite the contrived plot, the story is a modest success with its appealing characterizations.
