But, Roy soon realizes that Rico is innocent and lets him go. The real villain is Harry Blaisdell (Charles McGraw) who Roy chases down and brings to justice. The reward money saves the carnival, and the show moves on to the next town.

Dr. Deemer (Leo G. Carroll) is working on a new serum that causes animals to grow to enormous sizes. Following an accident in Deemer's laboratory, in which his assistant is killed, a tarantula that Deemer had been working on breaks loose and heads into the desert. Dr. Matt Hastings (John Agar) investigates the assistant's death and has questions about it. Meanwhile, the tarantula is continuing to grow and is now consuming cattle and even humans. Deemer's new assistant, Stephanie "Steve" Clayton (Mara Corday), arrives at the lab, and she and Hastings finally figure out what is happening. They call in the Air Force, which drops napalm on the tarantula and kills the beast–but, not before it attacks Deemer's house and kills him.
