Financial executive Evan Danielson (Eddie Murphy) is so obsessed with his work and competing against newly hired Johnny Whitefeather (Thomas Haden Church) that he has little time for his young daughter Olivia (Yara Shahidi) who lives with Evan's ex-wife Trish (Nicole Ari Parker). When Olivia comes to live with Evan for a few days, she tests his nerves with her fantasy games. Evan starts out ignoring Olivia until her fantasy world–in which she obtains stock tips from a queen and a princess–accurately predicts fiscal trends. When Evan follows their suggestions, his career soars, and he has fun with Olivia at the same time.

Despite suffering from hyperglycemia, Paul Blart (Kevin James) hopes to become a New Jersey State cop. His wife has deserted him, and Paul finds his self-esteem through his responsibilities at the mall. On Black Friday, thieves invade the mall, rob stores, and take hostages–including Amy and also Paul's young daughter, Maya (Raini Rodriguez). What the gang of thieves does not know is that Paul is still inside the mall. Will he be able to get it all together and save the day?
