  Based on a true story and adapted from Adolph Burger's book "The Devil's Workshop," this is the tale of a counterfeiting program set up by the Nazis in 1936 to help fund their cause. Saloman (Karl Markovics) is a Jewish entrepreneur who is a master counterfeiter. When he is put in a concentration camp, his talents are noted, and he becomes a key contributor to the counterfeiting program. But team member Adolf (August Diehl) is attempting to undermine the operation. Thus begins the dilemma of choosing between helping the enemy–the Nazis–vs. the consequences of potentially losing their lives. An Academy Award was received for Best Foreign Language Film.

  Set in rural, pre-World War II Austria, this story begins with the murder of a farmer who has bequeathed his land to the seven peasants who work on his farm. With Lukas (Simon Schwarz) and his lover, Emmy (Sophie Rois), as organizers, the peasants form a collective farm and thrive. BUT the idea of peasants owning land upsets the whole social order of the feudal society, and the local landowners bully them.
