In this animated adventure, rain and flood waters threaten the farm, so young farm boy Edmond (voice of Toby Scott Ganger)–who by now has been turned into a cat–gathers together a mouse Snipes (voice of Eddie Deezen), a magpie Peepers (voice of Sandy Duncan), and a dog Patou (voice of Phil Harris) for a trip to the city to bring back their rooster, Chanticleer (voice of Glen Campbell). When they do arrive in the city, the group discovers that because Chanticleer has become a rock star, it is almost impossible to get near him. Never fear, by story's end, Chanticleer is back on the farm, and happiness reigns.
