The new owner of the Cleveland Indians, Rachel Phelps (Margaret Whitton), wants to break her team's lease and move to Miami. But, the city of Cleveland will not give up its lease unless the year's attendance falls below 800,000. So, Phelps decides to put together the most inept players she can find in order to keep the attendance low. Her players include wild pitcher Rickie Vaughn (Charlie Sheen), Willie Mays Hayes (Wesley Snipes), Roger Dorn (Corbin Bernsen), and, last but not least, Jake Taylor (Tom Berenger). Good plan–until the new team members actually work together and prove that they will end up far from last place as Phelps has planned.
