Following a typhoon, shipwreck survivors Robert Herrick (Ray Milland), Jakob Therbeck (Oskar Homolka), and Huish (Barry Fitzgerald) are marooned on an island where they must contend with a psychopath, religious fanatic Attwater (Lloyd Nolan), who rules their sanctuary. Before their saga ends, two of the survivors are killed, and only one escapes. This film was remade in 1947 as "Adventure Island."
