Hoping to make a deal, cowardly Willard tells Usher that Doretta's father is wealthy. The ploy does not work for Frank, and Usher kills Frank but then holds Doretta for ransom. Tensions rise while Usher waits for the ransom, and, meanwhile, romance blooms between Pat and Doretta.
