When her new secretary Blanche Gunderson (Siobhan Fallon) sets Lucy up for a date with local union representative Ted Mitchell (Harry Connick Jr.), their initial meeting is anything but good. However, Ted is the one who Lucy must work with in restructuring the company, and they do become close as they get to know each other. Now, the New Ulm manufacturing plant is closed by Lucy's company, and she may decide to stay in New Ulm with Ted and begin life anew–and, in the process, help New Ulm start up its own plant.
