  As Father Edward J. Flanagan (Spencer Tracy) strives to set up a community for homeless boys, he runs into trouble with one boy, Whitey Marsh (Mickey Rooney), whose older brother (Edward Norris) is a gangster. Whitey runs away a number of times and finally manages to join his brother's gang. But, Father Flanagan and the boys capture the gang, and Whitey, at last, respects Father Flanagan's program and has hope for the future. Spencer Tracy won an Academy Award as Best Actor for his role in this film (his second consecutive Best Actor Oscar). Nominations were received for Best Picture and Director, and another Oscar was received for Best Original Story.

Dreams take Nemo (voice of Gabriel Damon) and his flying squirrel friend (voice of Danny Mann) off to a magic land where he befriends the king (voice of Bernard Erhard) and receives the keys to the kingdom. One no-no: do not open the forbidden door. Of course Nemo does, and bad things happen as the forces from Nightmareland are unleashed. Nemo learns several lessons while saving Slumberland.
