Mr. Turner's classic Ford Mustang just happens to match the description of a car involved in a murder case, and Kale soon begins to suspect that Turner is a serial killer. Kale, Julie, and Ronnie rig cameras hoping to catch evidence on Turner as they stake out his house.

The stranger arranges for Rachel and Jerry to get together, and, with Morgan in hot pursuit, they become fugitives desperately trying to find out what is really happening.

So, Cody hitches a ride on the back of a whale and ends up on a tropical island where he hopes to win the Big Z Memorial Surf Off. But, the bully Tank Evans (voice of Diedrich Bader) humiliates Cody during the contest. When Cody wipes out, he is rescued by lifeguard Lani (voice of Zooey Deschanel) who introduces him to her Uncle Geek who, it turns out, is really Big Z. Now, Big Z trains Cody for the next surfing competition, and Cody has a chance of getting his act together. The film received an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature.

Meanwhile, Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) has left his girlfriend Mikaela Banes (Megan Fox) at home and is attending college when he receives a cryptic message holding the map to the energon source. The message will serve Sam well when Megatron returns and goes after Sam's family (Kevin Dunn and Julie White) and the heroic Autobot, Optimus Prime (voice of Peter Cullen). Megalon's aim is to suck energy from the Sun with a vaporizer hidden in Egypt, which will destroy the Sun and humanity forever. Sam and Makaela set out on a trek in search of the energon source, and the battles rage between the Decepticons and the Autobots.
