Hello God 1951 N/R, 64 min. Genre: Drama
Director: William Marshall Cast: Errol Flynn, Sherry Jackson, William Marshall, Joseph Mazzuca, Armando Formica
The film is of interest only because Flynn made it (in Italy) (1) in order to get out of his contract with Warner Bros. and (2) as a favor to his friend William Marshall. It also was controversial due to its pacifist nature, which was not in the public interest at that time. In fact, after Flynn made a new contract with Warners, he attempted to steal the negative. It was seldom shown–and then only in Europe. Flynn plays an unknown soldier who tells the stories of four soldiers killed during World War II and their feelings as they approach heaven.
