  The stepfather, Jerry Blake (Terry O'Quinn), at times appears to be a congenial family man. He romances and marries a series of widows, and all goes well until his new family fails to live up to his expectations. Then, the stepfather turns into a psychopathic murderer, kills them, and moves on to the next family of victims. Now, he is married to Susan Maine (Shelley Hack) whose daughter, Stephanie (Jill Schoelen), does not trust him, and the stepfather plots the next murders.
