But, it is too late, the Gremlin reproduces a new generation of Gremlins, and their leader Brain Gremlin (voice of Tony Randall) is plotting an escape after dark so that they can wreak havoc on New York. Lots of funny stuff with the gore.

This spoof of "Jaws" is the subject for Joe Dante's directorial debut. The story involves the adventures of insurance investigator Maggie McKeown (Heather Menzies) who is sent to find missing teenagers in the mountains. Maggie finds Paul Grogan (Bradford Dillman) and hires him as her guide. Along their trek, they discover Dr. Robert Hoak (Kevin McCarthy) at an abandoned military facility where he is raising flesh-eating piranhas. Maggie and Paul accidentally release the piranhas, and they are swimming downstream where a children's camp and resort are located. Now, Maggie and Paul race to save the humans from the deadly piranhas. There is a sequel.

Now, Thomas Dagget (Elias Koteas) and Katherine (Virginia Madsen) try to protect Mary from Gabriel and his evil plot.
