The Gremlins are back, and this time they invade the Clamp Center office building in New York that is owned by billionaire Daniel Clamp (John Glover). Billy (Zach Galligan) and Kate (Phoebe Cates) are also back, and now they work for Clamp. One day, they find a Gremlin in the building. But, it is too late, the Gremlin reproduces a new generation of Gremlins, and their leader Brain Gremlin (voice of Tony Randall) is plotting an escape after dark so that they can wreak havoc on New York. Lots of funny stuff with the gore.

Gabriel (Christopher Walken) is on the lookout for the soul of an evil human in order to give his band of angels the edge against opposing angels. A good angel, Simon (Eric Stoltz), hides the soul of a bad, recently deceased colonel in the body of young Native American Mary (Moriah "Shining Doe" Snyder), and Gabriel wants that soul to use for his battle. Now, Thomas Dagget (Elias Koteas) and Katherine (Virginia Madsen) try to protect Mary from Gabriel and his evil plot.
