  Based on Arlo Guthrie's satirical song about life in the mid-1960s, this film marks Guthrie's film debut. He plays the hero of the song whose good deed of taking Alice's (Patricia Quinn) trash to the dump comes back to haunt–and save–him when he is about to be inducted into the U.S. Army. Arthur Penn received an Oscar nomination for Best Director.

  When John Dortmunder (Robert Redford) and Andrew Kelp (George Segal) are hired by Dr. Amusa (Moses Gunn) to perform a jewelry heist, they put together a team including Alan Greenberg (Paul Sand) and Stan Murch (Ron Leibman) to carry off the heist. The heist does NOT go off as planned, and Alan swallows the jewel, which leads to more heist attempts in this entertaining comedy/suspense film.

  This short TV film is based on a Mark Twain story A mysterious stranger (Robert Preston) who was insulted by the townsfolk of Hadleyburg, Vermont, returns to teach them a lesson. While the townsfolk pride themselves on their integrity, it soon becomes clear that its most revered citizens are willing to lie when the stranger offers gold to the person who helped him years before.
