He meets Dorothy's sister Ellen (also played by Young), marries her, and gets a good position in Thor's company. But, when Ellen begins to investigate her sister's death, Jonathan tags Ellen as his next victim.

But tragedy strikes. Sean Young is good in this otherwise weak effort.

All goes well–until Gekko instructs Bud to undermine Blue Star airlines where Bud's father Carl (Martin Sheen) is a union leader. The plan is to break down the company and steal retirement funds. This is too much for Bud to handle, and he ends up helping the authorities catch Gekko in illegal practices. Michael Douglas won an Academy Award for Best Actor.
