  Culled from two Stephen King stories–"Low Men in Yellow Coats" and "Heavenly Shades of Night Are Falling"–and set in the late 1950s, this film revolves around 11-year-old Bobby (Anton Yelchin) and the mysterious boarder, Ted Brautigan (Anthony Hopkins), who has moved into the family home that Bobby shares with his embittered, single mother (Hope Davis). Ted offers Bobby money to read from the daily paper, and as their friendship grows Ted asks Bobby to keep an eye out for Low Men who want to steal Ted's psychic powers.

  In this remake of the 2002 German film "Mostly Martha," Catherine Zeta-Jones takes on the role of control-freak, New York City chef Kate Armstrong whose only friends appear to be her therapist (Bob Balaban) and the restaurant owner Paula (Patricia Clarkson). Things change after Kate's sister is killed in a car accident, and Kate's adolescent niece Zoe (Abigail Breslin) moves in with her. Kate is forced to take a brief time off to cope with the situation. When she returns to work, she clashes with the new, free-spirited chef Nick (Aaron Eckhart), but he gets along well with Zoe who spends her evenings in the restaurant kitchen. And, it isn't long before the opposite personalities of Kate and Nick turn into attractions for each other.

  This film provides a biographical account of Austrian piano virtuoso David Helfgrott. As a youth, David (Alex Rafalowicz) was a child prodigy, but in his twenties David (Noah Taylor) suffered a nervous breakdown brought on by abuse from his overbearing father, Peter (Armin Mueller-Stahl). After more than 15 years of problems, David (Geoffrey Rush) finally triumphs over adversity when he falls in love with Gillian (Lynn Redgrave) who helps him regain his life and fame in the music world. Rush won the Best Actor Oscar. The film was also nominated for nine others, including Best Picture, Director, and Supporting Actor (Mueller-Stahl).

  Flashbacks abound in this adaptation of David Guterson's novel about a 1950s courtroom drama in which a Japanese American, Kazuo Miyamoto (Rick Yune) is on trial for murder. A reporter, Ishmael Chambers (Ethan Hawke), begins his own investigation and comes up with facts that neither the defense attorney (Max von Sydow) nor the prosecutor (James Rebhorn) are bringing out. But, Chambers' own World War II prejudices also stand in the way of the truth.
