This film is based on the Broadway character Corliss Archer. In this episode, 17-year-old Corliss Archer (Shirley Temple) tries to keep news of her brother Lenny's (Scott Elliott) marriage to Mildred (Virginia Welles) a secret. When Mildred becomes pregnant, Corliss goes to the doctor with her and is spotted leaving. Now, people mistakenly believe that it is Corliss who is pregnant and that her boyfriend Dexter (Jerome Courtland) is responsible.
